According to data from the United Nations, "1 billion people in the world have some type of physical or intellectual disability, 80% of which live in developing countries." Some of the goals and policies established to reduce discrimination, increase inclusion and opportunities were highly committed to Covid19. In this sense, the Secretary General of the United Nations explains that it is necessary to create a post-Covid-19 world that is "more inclusive, accessible and sustainable". For António Guterres, "the participation of people, the participation of people with disabilities is essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals". In Guinea-Bissau, this year, the Federation of Associations for the Defense and Promotion of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Guinea-Bissau (FADPD-GB) organized several activities in the city of Canchungo to commemorate this date, whose main objective was "the motivation for a greater understanding of issues related to disability and, also, to promote a mobilization for the defense of dignity, rights and well-being, in order to create a more inclusive and equitable world for people with disabilities".

Recently the FADPD-GB, with the support of the United Nations Program for Development, launched the database of people with disabilities, as part of the project that aims to create a favorable environment for people with disabilities in the context of the Covid pandemic. 19 in Guinea-Bissau. The creation of this database will allow public and private institutions as well as NGOs to obtain secure information, understand the real situation of these people and, above all, activate mechanisms that facilitate the elaboration and execution of policies that ensure their rights and well-being. layer. .

It is very important to emphasize that, in order to have a greater inclusion of people with disabilities, it is necessary to work hard on issues of human rights, accessibility, health, education, training, employment, sport, culture, etc. in order to remove the main barriers that hinder inclusion and create obstacles to a better future.

The United Nations has been working hard through several projects to "Leave No One Behind".
