UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina Accelerator Lab

We are working on a range of experiments on priority issues and to boost new programming. We pay special attention to building in-house innovation capacities.

The UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina Accelerator Lab was launched in October 2019 and has since then engaged in at least a dozen Lab-led experiments and a number of processes supporting the program delivery in the Country Office. Our three lines of work correspond to the overall strategic plan of UNDP in the country and consist of experimentation in a) sustainable and inclusive growth, b) good governance and quality public services and c) boosting organizational innovation. Namely, we have developed and run experimentation on the green and digital economies, including an online carbon offsetting marketplace, a public consultation 2.0 tool, real-time tracking of the pandemic’s impact on the national economy and a pandemic-related ideathon. We are also testing green public procurement solutions and new tech approaches to emergency public information and building the first Open Innovation platform in the country. Further, we run innovation challenges on topics related to waste (so far on food waste and low waste communities), and work towards building in-house capacity on innovation methods, next-gen solutions in development and the introduction of horizon technologies in our work.
