This report comprises the results of a desk review commissioned by the UNDP Pacific Centre and UNIFEM to assess the legislative compliance of nine Pacific Island Countries with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The review required the development and application of 113 indicators to the Constitution and legislation of the nine countries – Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
The report is intended as a resource and a tool for the government and for non-government organisations to achieve full participation and non-discrimination for women in all aspects of their lives.
