The report on application of the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment and Punishment is based on the analysis conducted by a group of UNDP national experts. The report highlights main issues within the national legislation vis-a-vis the Convention and lack of mechanisms to support proper implementation by the courts and other institutions of the justice sector of the Convention against Torture. The report is prepared and published in the framework of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Armenia office "Protecting Human Rights and Promoting Human Rights and Human Rights Education" and "Strengthening the Human Rights Capacity of the Human Rights Defender's Office" projects with financial support of UNDP and Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). The report was prepared as of January 2008 and published in 2009.
