Countries like Armenia should focus on spheres that are the locomotives for the state development: President Armen Sarkissian received the newly appointed UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia

Today, President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian received the newly appointed UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili.

President Sarkissian congratulated Natia Natsvlishvili on assuming her mission in Armenia and expressed confidence that the efficient cooperation with UNDP will continue and be further strengthened.

Natia Natsvlishvili noted that it is a pleasure to work in a country with which UNDP has a strong partnership.

During the meeting, President Sarkissian and Natia Natsvlishvili exchanged views on areas of collaboration. Emphasizing that every cooperation should be forward-looking, President Sarkissian underscored the need of development of spheres with great potential for our country. “Countries like Armenia should focus on spheres that are the locomotives for further development of the state,” he said, highlighting the spheres of science, education, high technologies and innovations.

The interlocutors agreed that the implementation of targeted projects will have a real impact on the development of the country, as well as emphasized future enhanced partnership.
