On 7 May, the Governor of Lori Region, Aram Ghazaryan, received UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili.

The meeting was also attended by Kamo Ashrafyan, Chief of Staff of the Lori Regional Administration; Koryun Shekoyan, Acting Head of the Department for Development Programme Design and Implementation; Anna Gyurjyan, UNDP head of Socio-Economic Development Programmes; Harutyun Gevorgyan, Project Manager of the "EU Local Empowerment of Actors for Development in Lori and Tavush regions Project (EULEAD4Lori and Tavush Regions).

In his welcome remarks, Governor Aram Ghazaryan expressed high appreciation for the cooperation with UNDP, particularly emphasizing its importance in promoting the socio-economic development of Lori. He thanked the partners for their numerous initiatives and the effective collaboration.

During the meeting, participants thoroughly discussed the results of the projects implemented in Lori with the UNDP support.

The sides acknowledged the achievements and outlined potential future initiatives in the following areas:

sustainable community development,

environmental protection,

agricultural development,

introduction of innovative technologies, among others.

In her response, Natia Natsvlishvili expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated UNDP’s commitment to continuing close collaboration with the Lori Regional Administration and local self-government bodies to jointly advance community development in the region.

As a result of the meeting, Governor Aram Ghazaryan and the UNDP Resident Representative agreed to organize visits to project sites supported by UNDP to assess the progress and impact on the ground.
