Creating sustainable and accessible healthcare facilities for Meghradzor community

On 20 July, within the framework of the UNDP Sustainable Communities programme, Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, Artak Jumayan, RA Deputy Minister of Health, Hayk Mkrtchyan, Deputy Governor of Kotayk region, Garik Gevorgyan, Deputy Head of Tsaghkadzor consolidated community, representatives of the other stakeholder structures participated in the opening ceremony of the renovated Meghradzor Outpatient Clinic. This occasion marked a milestone in the efforts towards creating sustainable and accessible healthcare facilities for the community.

The success of the project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the UNDP, the Governor’s Office, Tsaghkadzor municipality and the local community. The Meghradzor Outpatient Clinic now stands as a vital healthcare center, providing essential services to six settlements and catering to a population of approximately 4,500 individuals. The clinic will offer high-quality healthcare services, as a compelling and accessible alternative to nearby facilities in Tsaghkadzor and Hrazdan. 

Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, expressed her gratitude to all partners involved, emphasizing the remarkable level of collaboration that made the project a resounding success. She noted that, through this project, UNDP recognizes the strength of collective action to unlock the potential to transform community healthcare services, bring positive change to healthcare accessibility and community well-being, and create a lasting impact that will benefit generations to come.
