The UNDP in Armenia is currently transitioning from its 2021–2025 Country Programme Document (CPD) to a new cycle for 2026–2030, as part of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2026-2030.

On 21 February, senior representatives from the Government of Armenia, the National Assembly, UNDP in Armenia, the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office, and other partner institutions gathered to review the key parameters of the new CPD for the next five years.

The objective of the Strategic Dialogue was to consult and co-design key parameters of the new CPD for the period of 2026-2030 with the Government of Armenia.

Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, and Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, welcomed the participants of the Strategic Dialogue.

Natia Natsvlishvili presented the UNDP’s strategic results for the 2021-2025 CPD and outlined the vision and key priorities of the new CPD. "This dialogue is an opportunity to gather your insights as we shape UNDP’s next five-year strategic cooperation framework with the Government of Armenia. The key question before us is: what is UNDP’s overall contribution to Armenia’s development, and what should our focus be in the years ahead?" noted UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia.

Тhe new CPD coincides with the final five years of Agenda 2030. Therefore, the new document should be strategically positioned to accelerate the implementation of the SDGs, closely aligning with and advancing the national development priorities and international commitments of the Republic of Armenia.

As the lead development agency within the United Nations Country Team (UNCT), UNDP in Armenia currently contributes to seven of the eight Armenia-UNSDCF outcomes and accounts for approximately 50 percent of the total UN Funding Framework, playing a pivotal role in key transformative processes in the country, with a focus on crisis response, green transition, socio-economic reforms, and advancing democratic governance.
