The 2025 ASDR reviews the status of the implementation of Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063 in Africa and offers policy recommendations to facilitate their attainment. The 2025 edition focuses on good health and well-being (Goal 3); gender equality (Goal 5); decent work and economic growth (Goal 8); life below water (Goal 14) and strengthening global partnerships (Goal 17). 

The report  highlights that Africa is making progress in 12 of the 17 SDGs, however the current pace of progress is insufficient to achieve the SDGs by 2030. This document provides a thorough analysis as well as key recommendations to urgently implement for African countries to shift back on track to build 'The Africa We Want'.
