On August 21st, UNDP and Pole to Paris participated at the Science and Technology Leadership Association (STeLA) Forum at Tsinghua University. Pole to Paris is a public awareness campaign ahead of COP21 in Paris, dedicated to addressing climate change by documenting the journey of two scientists, all the while promoting low-carbon lifestyle as they pass through over 15 countries, from the poles to Paris, by bicycle and foot.

The Pole to Paris team, supported by UNDP, presented their campaign in Tsinghua after the closing ceremony of the STeLA Forum. Attendees came from different countries and regions all over the world and had a unique opportunity to learn more about a meaningful and an ambitious campaign.

At the beginning of the exhibition, Mr. Patrick Haverman, UNDP Deputy Country Director in China, gave a brief introduction about UNDP and Pole to Paris, showing UNDP’s unreserved support for combating climate change. After that he invited the two bikers and activists, Daniel Price and Theodore Wordsworth, to share the motivation and logic behind the global campaign.

Supporting green environment and sustainability, during the event instead of printing paper, Jide Technology provided 8 Ultra tablets so participants could view Pole to Paris photos and documents.
