UN Socioeconomic Impact Report of COVID-19 in Uganda

In response to the United Nations Secretary-General's call for the need to assess the socioeconomic impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) guided by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its central thrust to ‘Leave No One Behind’ (LNOB), the United Nations Country Team in Uganda undertook a comprehensive study on the socioeconomic impact of the pandemic. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was designated by the UN Secretary-General as the technical lead on the socioeconomic pillar of the UN support. In Uganda, UNDP provided technical leadership to the drafting and consolidation of the report under overall leadership of the UN Resident Coordinator.
