Laying the Groundwork for Recovery - UNDP Sudan Annual Report 2025

June 21, 2026

In 2025, as Sudan faced one of the world’s largest humanitarian and development crises, UNDP remained on the ground, working with communities, national institutions and partners to protect essential services, restore livelihoods and support pathways toward recovery.

The UNDP Sudan Annual Report 2025 highlights how integrated, community-centred support reached 4.9 million people across 10 states. This included life-saving healthcare, agricultural and income support, access to solar energy and safe water, women’s economic empowerment, and local peacebuilding efforts that help communities rebuild with dignity.

The report reflects a year of resilience, adaptation and partnership, showing how recovery can begin even in the most difficult circumstances when local capacities, essential systems and people’s own efforts are supported.
