UNDP Sri Lanka Strategic Partnership with the Government of Japan

October 7, 2026

The partnership between UNDP Sri Lanka and the Government of Japan represents a strategic investment in human security, inclusive growth, and institutional resilience, aligned with Japan’s development cooperation priorities and the Japan Supplementary Budget (JSB) framework. Japan’s support to UNDP Sri Lanka—totalling USD 8.55 million across 2021–2028—has enabled the delivery of integrated interventions that link crisis response with long-term development, particularly in the context of Sri Lanka’s economic crisis and climate vulnerability.
