About the Symposium 

The Climate Action Symposium (CAS) 2025 is a landmark two-day event convened by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation in collaboration with the Climate Resilient Integrated Water Management Project (CRIWMP) and UNDP Sri Lanka. This national platform will bring together professionals from across Sri Lanka working in water, agriculture (crops, livestock, poultry, aquaculture), drinking water, meteorology, disaster management, and environmental sciences.

The symposium aims to foster cross-sector collaboration, catalyze innovation, and influence policy through evidence-based dialogue. It will spotlight the transformative impacts of CRIWMP and similar initiatives, offering a timely opportunity to scale successful models and shape a climate-resilient future. 


Objectives 

  • Exchange Knowledge: Facilitate the sharing of innovative research and field experiences in water and climate resilience.
  • Shape Policy: Present data-driven insights to inform local and national climate adaptation strategies.
  • Empower Communities: Highlight community-led solutions and promote inclusive, grassroots-driven climate action.
  • Scale Impact: Document and disseminate lessons from CRIWMP to inspire replication across Sri Lanka and beyond.
