The report highlights progress in governance, economic recovery, resilience, and inclusion despite ongoing security and climate challenges.
In 2025, UNDP supported Somalia’s transformation by strengthening institutions and service delivery, reaching over 1 million people with improved infrastructure and services, and supporting 5,000+ people with livelihoods, skills, and finance.

Major gains in peacebuilding and governance included resolving 15 conflicts and improving safety for over 2 million people, alongside expanded access to justice through legal aid and community dispute mechanisms.

UNDP advanced digital transformation, with over 1 million citizens registered in the national digital ID system, improving access to services and accountability. In economic development, support focused on job creation, private sector partnerships, and empowering youth and women to boost inclusive growth. 
Efforts in climate resilience provided 23,000 people with clean water and advanced renewable energy and climate policies.

Across all areas, gender equality and inclusion were prioritized, increasing women’s participation in governance, economic activities, and peacebuilding.
Overall, the report demonstrates progress toward building resilient institutions, inclusive growth, and long‑term stability in Somalia.
