May 11, 2026
On 7 May, the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC) participated in the 2026 KOICA International Organizations Career Fair, held at Community Masil in Myeong-dong, Seoul. The event convened returned KOICA Multilateral Cooperation Officers (KMCO) and UN Volunteer (UNV) alumni, international organization practitioners, and prospective applicants seeking to build a career in the multilateral system.
Organized in three parts, the Career Fair featured a Homecoming Day for returned alumni, a recruitment briefing on pathways into international organizations, and small-group mentoring sessions designed to facilitate in-depth, personalized exchanges between practitioners and aspiring candidates.
Representing USPC, Sujin Kim, Outreach and Advocacy Analyst, and Sion Bae, Operations Assistant, shared practical insights on career pathways in the UN system. Drawing on their respective experiences, Sion Bae addressed questions on recruitment processes and domestic personnel systems, while Sujin Kim reflected on her previous UNV assignment in Cambodia and subsequent work at USPC, offering practical perspectives on how such experiences can be leveraged for a career in the UN system.
Eunseo Choi, Communications and Advocacy Intern, and Subin Kim, Administration and Operations Intern, also provided firsthand accounts of internship experiences at USPC, responding to questions from participants considering similar opportunities.
The session also introduced UNDP and USPC's mission and key areas of work, drawing strong interest from participants throughout. Following the presentation, attendees actively engaged in a lively Q&A, raising questions on UNDP career opportunities and the competencies required to pursue a career in international organizations—reflecting both the depth of their preparation and the breadth of their aspirations.
USPC extends its sincere appreciation to all participants and to KOICA for organizing this meaningful gathering. Moving forward, USPC remains committed to engaging in such platforms to foster active dialogue with the next generation of global talent and to support their pathways into the international development field.
