This Handbook has been developed as publication by the Registrar of Political Parties with support from the Papua New Guinea Election Commission and the United Nations Development Programme in Papua New Guinea. This is part of the UN Women Make the Change programme funded by the Australian Government’s Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development Programme. The Handbook was initially conceived by Dr Alphonse Gelu, the Registrar of Political Parties. It draws on two excellent Campaign Handbooks designed for women in the Pacific and Papua New Guinea and was compiled by Ms. Charmaine Rodrigues and Ms. Julie Bukikun from UNDP Papua New Guinea Country Office. Rather than reinventing the wheel, this 2021 PNG Campaign Handbook for Women has sought to build on these resources and adapt them for current needs. Existing text was used wherever possible and has been supplemented with new material as necessary.
