Supported by China’s Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund, UNDP and China National Academy of Governance hold training on promoting effective service delivery in Balochistan

Gwadar, 26 May 2023 – With support from China’s Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund (GDF), UNDP Pakistan, UNDP China, and the China National Academy of Governance (CNAG) hold a three-day training on promoting effective service delivery and sustainable development in Balochistan.
Government officials from various departments of the Government of Balochistan participated in the training and gained insights into the Government of China's approaches in responding to natural disasters and formulating public policies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ms. Duan Hongxia, Deputy Director of CNAG, expressed her institute's commitment to the development of Pakistan and reaffirmed the enduring friendship between the two countries. "This year marks the tenth anniversary of the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and we hope to partner on new opportunities for Pakistan's development."
Upon the conclusion of the training, Muhammad Arif Shah, Joint Chief Economist of the Planning and Development Department, Government of Balochistan, expressed gratitude to UNDP and CNAG for organising the training.
The training provided an important platform for knowledge sharing and capacity building, strengthening government officials' skills, and reiterating China and Pakistan's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The intervention is part of UNDP Pakistan’s Balochistan SDGs Accelerated Delivery Project, implemented in collaboration with the Planning and Development Department of the Government of Balochistan. The project is capacitating the local governments to deliver the SDGs effectively and providing livelihood skills trainings to the local community.
