Tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to start your business?
Ever since I gave birth to my children and saw my husband as the sole breadwinner, I planned to do something that could help him and support our children. Since I have always loved sewing and making jewelry, I transformed these skills into something bigger by starting this business—doing something that I truly love while also helping my family financially.
What values or vision guide your business?
My passion to showcase my skills and put them to good use so they can be seen and recognized by others who can be part of building my business. It also allows me to add new skill sets that can contribute to both my personal and business growth.
What products or services do you offer?
Dresses, shirts, bags, and handmade jewelry.
What makes your business unique compared to others?
I always observe existing businesses that sell similar products to mine, and I make sure to use unique patterns and designs for my sewn products and jewelry to set my work apart.
How does your business contribute to sustainability (e.g. reducing waste, offering eco-friendly alternatives)?
I also make bags, which can be a very good alternative to constantly buying shopping bags every time we go shopping. These bags are reusable and help reduce the use of plastic and disposable shopping bags at supermarket checkouts.
What is your vision for the future of your business?
To run a well-established and well-managed business and not limit myself from exploring other things that I can create through the workshops and training I attend.
How do you see your work contributing to a more sustainable Pacific?
Through the use of my recycled products, I believe I can help sustain our Pacific livelihoods and safeguard the environment—and who knows, maybe this can help eradicate plastic shopping bags forever.
