This rapid assessment was commissioned by WHO and UNDP to assess HIV and illicit drug use in Fiji with a focus on injecting drug use, to inform development of a public health response to Fiji’s rapidly escalating HIV epidemic.

The assessment involved a desk review and collection of qualitative data from interviews with 56 people who inject drugs and five Talanoas with 50 key informants representing civil society, health care workers, government ministries, law enforcement agencies, and faith-based organisations.
