The present study aims to assist the ongoing efforts for improving DRR legal and institutional arrangement in Iraq intends to examine the key strengths and gaps in the existing legal and institutional framework for disaster risk reduction in Iraq. The present study besides providing a review of the existing legal framework also

- Provides insights and forward looking recommendations on law and disaster risk reduction in Iraq;

- Contributes to UNDP-IFRC Global Synthesis Report on DRR and Legislation; and

- Informs the policy and law making process on disaster risk reduction in Iraq.
