Issue Briefs: Business and Biodiversity

Issue Briefs: Business and Biodiversity

October 10, 2026

The Business and Biodiversity (BXB) in Asia and the Pacific Issue Briefs outline the priority interventions needed to accelerate a nature-positive transition in the region. These interventions call for a focus on policy coherence, nature-related financial disclosures, digital technologies for nature data, natural capital accounting and nature finance. Only through consolidating and coordinating these areas of work, coupled with multi-stakeholder engagement, will momentum to stop biodiversity loss result in enduring gains.

These BXB Issue Briefs address:

Policy: How can governments in Asia-Pacific ensure policy alignment of biodiversity strategies and regulations with other legislative, regulations and economic planning processes?

Disclosures: What is the state of play of TNFD and ISSB adoption in Asia-Pacific capital markets? What can be done to accelerate adoption by companies?

Data and tech: What opportunities do nature-monitoring technologies present, including artificial intelligence, remote sensing, and digital public infrastructure?

Natural Capital Accounting: What are the practical uses of NCA for companies and governments in Asia-Pacific countries?

Sustainable Finance: How to bridge the gap to mobilizing public, private, and blended finance for nature-positive outcomes?
