Your Voice Matters in Improving Iraq’s Public Services
UNDP Iraq, in partnership with the Commission of Statistics and Geographic Information Systems (CSGIS), invites young people across Baghdad to participate in a national survey aimed at improving public services and advancing SDG indicator 16.6.2, which measures citizens’ satisfaction with their most recent experience of public services.
Over the past two months, UNDP and CSGIS have actively engaged youth through consultation sessions held in universities, community centers, and youth organizations across Baghdad. More than 350 young people from diverse districts contributed to shaping this initiative by learning about the survey, testing the electronic questionnaire, and sharing feedback to ensure it is inclusive, accessible, and responsive.
These consultations reinforced the role of youth as key partners in transparency, accountability, and evidence-based governance. They also strengthened collaboration between national institutions, academic partners, and community organizations, demonstrating the strong commitment of Iraqi youth to improving the quality of public services for all.
The survey platform is now open to youth groups in Baghdad and will be available from 10 December for one month. By participating, young people can directly contribute to data that informs policymaking and supports more effective and responsive public service delivery.
UNDP remains committed to supporting national institutions and empowering young people as drivers of accountability, data quality, and positive change.
