November 11, 2025

Rebuilding Lives and Services Across Iraq’s Liberated Areas – Q1 2025

In the aftermath of ISIL’s defeat, the UNDP Funding Facility for Stabilization (FFS) continues to help communities in Anbar, Ninewa, Salah al-Din, Kirkuk, and Diyala rebuild essential infrastructure and restore livelihoods.

During Q1 2025, FFS completed five new infrastructure projects, bringing the total to 3,436 — surpassing its original target. Achievements include the rehabilitation of a major water treatment plant in Salah al-Din, provision of training equipment and school furniture in Diyala, public service machinery in Anbar, and medical equipment for maternity halls in Kirkuk.

FFS also trained 98 government officials (20% women) on water management and urban planning, and rehabilitated 206 houses across three governorates, directly benefiting 1,092 people, half of them women.
