In October 1993 the Government of Tajikistan and UNDP signed the Standard Basic Assistance Agreement, which contains the basic conditions under which UNDP assists the Government in carrying out development projects and how they are carried out. Thereupon UNDP’s country office in Tajikistan opened in 1994.
