UNDP Partners with Japan to support training on post-conflict recovery

The International Peace Support Training Institute has launched a post-conflict recovery training course to enhance the skills and knowledge of local and international peacekeeping practitioners on the fundamental concepts and issues of post-conflict recovery, peace, and state building. The course was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the Government of Japan. The Government of Japan has been collaborating with UNDP to support the International Peace Support Training Institute since 2013.

Dignity kits for women and girls affected by conflict in northern Ethiopia

Across northern Ethiopia, months of conflict have caused a shortage of hygiene supplies, with widespread health consequences. Amid growing needs, UNDP partnered with UNFPA to ensure that more than 17,500 dignity kits have been sent to improve the situation of women and girls across the Afar, Amhara and Tigray regions.

UNDP Expands Regional Engagement

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), led by its Resident Representative, Mr Turhan Saleh, has signed an agreement with the Regional Government of Amhara to promote rehabilitation, recovery and reconstruction (RRR) in conflict-affected areas. Overall, UNDP has committed USD 6 million for 2022, as the first phase of funding for RRR in Amhara, while also working towards assisting other conflict-affected regions of Northern Ethiopia.
UNDP’s support to Amhara Region has two components. The first component, valued at USD 3,611,303, addresses capacity building of the region, restart of economic activities, support for SGBV survivors and communities affected by the war.
