Study On Effectiveness Of Climate Public Financial Management
Study On Effectiveness Of Climate Public Financial Management
October 23, 2025
This study, produced by the UNDP Climate Finance Network in collaboration with the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), with financial support from the UK Government through FCDO and the Government of Sweden through Sida, examines the progress made in advancing climate-sensitive public financial management (PFM) across four countries in the Asia-Pacific region — Bangladesh, Fiji, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
It explores how climate-sensitive PFM approaches have been used to increase climate-related expenditures and assesses the extent to which these efforts have contributed to achieving national climate policy objectives. The findings and recommendations are intended to inform and support policy makers, development practitioners, researchers, and academics engaged in the design and implementation of effective climate finance strategies.
