The gig economy in Asia and the Pacific is entering a period of rapid transformation, driven by automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and mobility technologies. While it offers flexible work arrangements, platform-enabled efficiency, and additional income opportunities, it also exposes workers to rising costs, economic volatility, fraudulent platforms and limited social protection.
