Strengthening Gender Perspective and Disability Sensitization in Handling of Complaints by the Supervisory Board of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia

May 3, 2023

Dates: 3 - 5 May 2023

As part of the support to the Supreme Court's efforts to revitalize the web-based Oversight Information System called SIWAS, UNDP organized a 3-day workshop in Jakarta with the participation of judges, governmental officials and universities, with the support of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

In line with the Supreme Court policy on disability inclusiveness and Indonesia's commitments to the Bangalore Principles and the International Framework for Court Excellence, the initiative marked the launch of SIWAS 4.0, the upgraded monitoring system to strengthen digital governance in the complaint-handling system with a more gender-responsive and disability-inclusive approach.

Participants actively contributed with ideas and thoughts on promoting women's access to justice and public services, helping the event to improve excellence in the judiciary while upholding gender equality principles and the rule of law.
