The Report presents the findings of research on the relationship between access to justice and poverty. It provides the first-ever testing of the civil justice access indicator — SDG indicator 16.3.3 — under the 2030 Agenda. To this end, a specific access to justice module was designed and incorporated into the Observatory of Argentina’s Social Debt at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina’s general Survey on Quality of Life and Human Development.
The study provides insights into the most common problems people face, the mechanisms they use to resolve them, and their needs and experiences in accessing justice in contexts of inequality. It has also enabled experimental progress in exploring certain aspects of legal capacity.
