Reaching 25 Million Afghans: UNDP’s Lifeline in a Time of Crisis
July 13, 2025
Since October 2021, UNDP has reached 25 million people across Afghanistan with life-saving services and essential community support. From healthcare and clean energy to jobs, education, and support for small businesses, our work has helped families navigate one of the most difficult periods in the country’s history. Special focus has been placed on reaching women and the most vulnerable, ensuring that no one is left behind.
As economic hardship deepens and access to basic needs declines, UNDP’s support continues through an area-based, community-driven approach. With a presence in all 34 provinces and strong partnerships with local organizations, we are helping Afghans recover livelihoods, build climate resilience, and restore hope for a more inclusive and sustainable future.
