October 29, 2025
Across Afghanistan’s northern border provinces, communities are rebuilding livelihoods with support from the LITACA III initiative, funded by the People of Japan and JICA. These stories spotlight women entrepreneurs, youth trainees, farmers, and returnees who turned skills and small investments into real change. Results to date: 258 people (108 women) gained TVET skills and start-up kits; 9 One Village, One Product (OVOP) groups now connect 649 producers (100 women) to markets; 93 community infrastructures benefit 250,235 people (129,882 women); 26 processing centers created jobs for 1,669 people; 92,411 labor days provided; 1,453 trained in business; 196 OVOP members trained in digital payments; 6,241 people benefited from jobs and employment. This is progress you can see, one village, one product, one family at a time.
