UNDP Ukraine Accelerator Lab

We are facilitating collective intelligence, futures insight and experimenting with local solutions to address sustainable development challenges with a focus on air, waste, inclusion and tourism.

UNDP launched Ukraine’s Accelerator Lab in September 2019, and in 2020 it spearheaded a number of groundbreaking initiatives and development approaches across a wide range of portfolios addressing challenges linked to air quality, innovation, biomimicry and the circular economy. Using collective intelligence, strategic foresight, citizen science, anthropology and experimentation, the Lab is diving deep in:

  • Just Transition - building a sustainable future for coal dependent cities in Ukraine.
  • Air Quality and Waste Management - facilitating better understanding of the problems of air pollution in Ukraine, crowdsourcing intelligence on solutions to open burning of waste, experimenting with zero waste solutions and more
  • Inclusive Development - understanding and addressing economic barriers and inclusion of people with disabilities in Ukraine, facilitating innovative public sector methods for better quality of governance.
  • Domestic Sustainable Tourism - creating and enabling an environment for local people and nature-friendly travel and tourism in Ukraine.
