Government of Uganda, UNDP and GEF Partnership Snapshot: 2017–2025

October 29, 2025

Since 2017, the Government of Uganda, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) have partnered to advance Uganda’s transition toward a greener and more sustainable country. Through GEF financing implemented by UNDP, the partnership has supported national priorities in biodiversity conservation, sustainable land management, climate resilience and livelihoods improvement.

The Partnership Snapshot (2017–2025) showcases the results and impact of this collaboration, from promoting low-carbon development and sustainable energy solutions to strengthening community resilience and environmental governance.

Together, these efforts demonstrate how global partnerships can deliver local solutions, accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals and Uganda’s Vision 2040.
