Accelerating Innovation: A Multistakeholder Ecosystem Approach to Tackling Climate Change

Article Series

The urgency of addressing climate change cannot be overstated. As the IPCC's 6th Assessment Report emphasizes, enhancing technology innovation systems is paramount to accelerating the widespread adoption of climate-friendly technologies and practices. Climate change has already unleashed rapid and profound changes across our planet, with far-reaching impacts on both nature and humanity. The decisions we make in this crucial decade will resonate for centuries, underscoring the need for immediate and impactful solutions.

While progress is being made, it remains slow. The imperative is clear: we must create the conditions for accelerated innovation and translate bold action into the near term. In a collaborative endeavor, the UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation, and Sustainable Development, in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), has launched this article series, Accelerating Innovation: A Multistakeholder Ecosystem Approach to Tackling Climate Change, to stress the importance of collective action and highlight transformative solutions.

In this article series, we will explore how Singapore has successfully cultivated an ecosystem that fosters innovation and collaboration to combat climate change. We will interview key partners, highlight case studies, and present solutions that are at the forefront of shaping Singapore's climate agenda. Our aim is to showcase Singapore's innovative and multi-stakeholder approach, hoping it will inspire others to take action and, throughout this series, encourage connections and partnerships in the fight against climate change.
