The Pacific Risk Resilience Programme supports the Government of Tonga’s efforts to achieve resilient development outcomes as outlined in the Tonga Strategic Development Framework.

It does this in recognition that climate change and disasters can set-back years of development gains, and that ‘unchecked’ development in itself can increase people’s vulnerability.

Mainstreaming disaster and climate change risk, including gender and social dimensions, means working from within governance arrangements for development.
