Public Finance Management Human-Interest Stories From the Pacific - 2025

The Vaka Pasifika Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP, works across the fiscal ecosystem of Pacific Big Ocean States. One key strand of this work focuses on strengthening the capacity of journalists to understand Public Finance Management (PFM) and to tell the human stories behind fiscal decisions. Through training, mentorship, and editorial support, the project helps journalists move beyond headline-driven budget reporting and toward deeper, community-centred analysis.
