Regional Programme
For Latin America and the Caribbean
The Regional Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) 2026-2029 outlines UNDPLAC´s strategic vision and operational priorities for the next four years, in alignment with the UNDP Strategic Plan 2026-2029. Its overall objective is to strengthen resilience as the pathway to sustainable human development, enabling individuals, communities, and institutions to anticipate, absorb, and adapt to multidimensional shocks while sustaining progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Programme is structured around four pillars to advance resilience across the human development spectrum: Resilience as a path towards development; Effective Governance for Inclusive and People-Centred Development; Healthy Planet for Sustainable and Inclusive Development; Prosperity for All through Inclusive and Resilient Economies.
Additionally, three accelerators will drive progress across all pillars: gender equality and inclusion, digital transformation, and sustainable and innovative finance.
By linking governance, environment, economy, and social inclusion through integrated approaches and innovative financing, the Programme aims to help LAC countries anticipate and manage risk, reduce inequality, and advance prosperity within planetary boundaries. It envisions a region where human development is more resilient, inclusive, and equitable, supported by institutions that deliver, communities that adapt, and societies that thrive amid uncertainty.
