With this publication, Guidelines for Assessing the Human Impact of Disasters, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) aims to help national governments and national and international organizations to assess the impact of disasters on the people, in their living conditions, in access to basic services, livelihoods and social status, in their ability to survive, and also in general levels of poverty and human development.
