| This report provides a summary of the Caribbean National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Training workshop, held at the Ramada Princess Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana, from 31st May to 2nd June, 2017. The workshop convened 45 participants, including 25 government representatives from 10 Caribbean countries (Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Suriname), representatives of the NAP-Global Support Programme (UN Environment and UNDP), its partners (FAO, PROVIA, WHO, UN-Habitat) and regional organisations (CARICOM and CCCCC). The objectives of the workshop were: 1. To increase countries capacity to formulate and implement a NAP process in-country, as a means to accelerate adaptation planning and implementation. 2. To take stock of what countries are doing on NAPs and exchange lessons learnt and experiences. 3. To increase understanding on prioritised technical issues around the formulation and implementation of NAPs, including cost-benefit analysis and gender. The desired output was the establishment of a Caribbean NAPs Community of Practice. |
