UNDP's Green Innovative Finance for Latin America and the Caribbean (GIF 4 LAC) initiative, funded by Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), is supporting the development of innovative tools to accelerate green financing:

Nature-based Solutions Investment Calculator: A Cost-Benefit Analysis Tool (download here) 

This Excel-based tool was developed to support informed decision-making for climate adaptation efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean. Created in collaboration with the Center for Climate Strategies, it enables users to: 

• Conduct cost-benefit analyses of NbS options based on climate impact drivers and ecosystem types;
• Use default data for specific countries and biomes, or input custom values; and
• Evaluate how selected NbS actions align with national strategies and commitments, such as Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs). 

By simplifying complex assessments, it can help overcome common barriers to financing NbS projects.
