Artificial intelligence is transforming electoral processes. Electoral bodies face increasing operational pressures — more cycles, fewer resources — and see AI as an opportunity to improve efficiency, but this adoption progresses without accompanying political consensus, solid technical capacities, or clear accountability frameworks.

How to ensure that AI strengthens democracy rather than fragmenting it?

In this Development Dialogue, UNDP shares its technical perspective on the responsible use of AI in elections, grounded in a track record of electoral assistance in more than 100 countries and territories. We will present a practical framework for AI adoption, concrete cases from Chile, Mexico, and Panama, and tools such as eMonitor+ and DRAs designed to accelerate more inclusive, secure, and credible digital transitions.

Aimed at electoral bodies, regulatory authorities, civil society, and technology experts seeking to implement AI with rigor and rights protection
