Linda Maguire

Deputy Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean

 

Linda Maguire is Deputy Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior this appointment, Maguire was serving as the UNDP Resident Representative of Panama and Supervisor of the UNDP Regional Hub (2019-2021).  She was UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Paraguay (2018-2019). From 2013 to 2018, she worked with RBA as a Chief of Country Support and then as Chief of the Country Oversight Team. She served as Senior Policy Advisor, Democratic Governance Group, based in the UNDP Office in Mexico (2007-2012), and before this as a Policy Advisor, Democratic Governance Group of BDP. From 2001 to 2003, she was Evaluation Specialist with UNDP’s Evaluation Office in New York. She served as Advisor and Special Assistant to the Director, Management Development and Governance Division, with BDP in New York (1998-2001)

Prior to joining UNDP, she was a Senior Program Officer for West Africa at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) in Washington, D.C., Côte d'Ivoire and Mali (1995-1998). She started her career with the New York County District Attorney's Office.

Linda Maguire holds a Master’s degree of Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School, Tufts University, USA. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Tufts University. She speaks English, French and Spanish.
