The Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Units in Northern Jordan Municipalities and Development of Gender Sensitive Action Plans report provides a snapshot on gender mainstreaming capacities within four targeted municipalities of the “Enhancing Women Participation in the Solid Waste Management Sector in Jordan” Project. It summarizes adjustment measures required to ensure gender equality at a local governance level and proposes key recommendations to support the establishment of Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Units at the targeted municipalities, taking into consideration women’s active participation and contribution to local economic development.
