Legal Framework
UNDP works in more than 170 countries and territories to help eradicate poverty and reduce inequalities and exclusion. We support countries to develop inclusive policies, strengthen leadership and partnerships, build institutional capacity, and enhance resilience to sustain development results. Established globally in 1965, UNDP began operations in Eswatini in 1977.
From its earliest engagements to today’s transformative partnerships, UNDP Eswatini’s journey has focused on working alongside government, communities, and development partners to deliver lasting impact. In December 2025, UNDP Eswatini launched its latest five-year strategic framework, the Country Programme Document (CPD) for 2026–2030. The CPD is Aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the programme supports national priorities outlined in the Eswatini National Development Plan (2023–2028). It also premised on Eswatini National Development Plan and contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).
