UNDP and the Global Fund in Belize - Case Study

March 9, 2023

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund) has financed HIV programmes in Belize since 2004 and tuberculosis (TB) programmes from 2016 to 2021. UNDP served as the Principal Recipient (PR) from 2011 to 2021. HIV programming has focused on improving linkages to and retention in care by providing a comprehensive prevention package to key populations. This case study reflects some of the key achievements and gaps observed from the implementation of Global Fund HIV and Tuberculosis (TB) grants by UNDP over the period 2011 to 2021.
