The Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics, and E-Governance (MPUELE) with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched the Teodoso Ochoa Digital Connect Center under the National Digital Inclusion Programme.

The UNDP grant funded Digital Inclusion Programme valued at USD $488,054 which falls under the National Digital Agenda 2022-2025, seeks to facilitate access, adoption, and application of information and communication technologies by marginalized communities as a means for socio-economic prosperity. As such, a primary goal of this project is to create a network of Digital Connect Centers that provide access to government services, the internet, technology, and training in digital skills in rural and urban communities. Through this phase of the Digital Inclusion Programme led by the E-Governance and Digitalization Unit, upcoming Digital Connect Centers will be launched in Corozal, Orange Walk, Cayo, and Toledo districts. 

This initiative will also include the execution of a Senior Digital Literacy training course at the Digital Connect Centers in partnership with the Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples Affairs, through the National Council of Aging. This training course will include modules in Basic Computer Usage & Orientation, Digital Communications, Online Banking and Shopping, and Internet Safety to name a few. It will include the participation of youths as mentors and facilitators of the training who will assist to bridge the digital divide between millennials and senior citizens in Belize.
