On August 21^st, 2023, during a news segment regarding the recent arrest of seven Mexican nationals in the Corozal District, it was mentioned that the arrested individuals asserted an affiliation with a UNDP and Belize Traffic Department "road consultancy" project.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Belize wishes to clarify there is no ongoing "road consultancy" project in our Belize portfolio, and we have no connection to the accused individuals.
