Nature underpins our lives, societies, and economies. As the world faces a planetary emergency of nature loss and climate change, exacerbated by inequality, conflict, insecurity and health crises, the well-being and rights of billions of current and future generations are at risk - especially among the most vulnerable. 

We have tried too long to bend nature to our will.   

Our common ground with nature lies at the heart of the values that define us as humans.  

We must now work with nature as our most powerful ally if we are to secure the future of people and planet. UNDP is putting nature at the centre of our development agenda, to secure a better, more sustainable, more equitable future.
