Dorsla Farcathy heads UNDP Liberia Inclusive Green Growth Portfolio

UNDP Liberia

We acknowledge the partnership between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) and UNDP in the implementation of the livelihood and employment creation project as well as promoting business development services and providing access to capital for Liberian businesses.

UNDP recognizes development partners working with us, including those that contributed to UNDP TRAC two for their support in unlocking the growth potential of Liberian entrepreneurs.

Thanks also to the Ministry of Commerce for the collaboration and support provided to Accountability Lab & ICampus for successfully organizing the first edition of the Liberia Growth Accelerator event.

Let me urge Liberian Medium Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs), including those in the agriculture sector, to take advantage of the Call for Application for Cohort II of the growth accelerator programme and the opportunities it affords them to grow their businesses using the business development skills and potential funding that can be realized from this programme.

The Growth Accelerator Programme is important to the Government of Liberia Pro-Poor Agenda and UNDP in terms of supporting Livelihood & Employment Creation in Liberia.  "This is the core of the PAPD and UNDP recognizes that support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is one area that can enhance sustainable economic development for reducing poverty and economic advancement of women, youth and PWDs".

I Pledge UNDP continued commitment in working with the Ministry of Commerce in supporting the Growth Accelerator Programme as a platform for fueling ambitious Liberian entrepreneurs and post-revenue start-ups with the technical capacity and financial capital they need to experience the fullness of their growth potential.

This will make them viable commercial businesses and social enterprises that can deliver social and economic development solutions.

Let me conclude by thanking the Minister of Commerce and her staff for the leadership.

Thank you!
